Corvettes at Carlisle
Carlisle PA Fairgrounds
August 23-26, 2018
This was Corvettes Conquer Cancer's 21st consecutive year at Corvettes @ Carlisle, the largest of all Corvette events. A huge THANK YOU to Lance Miller, and of course his dad Chip previously, for hosting us all these years!
The weather was spectacular for the second year in a row!
And best of all, we raised $807.00 for the American Cancer Society, more than the last 4 years combined, thanks to 2 very special people! More about that later.

My "Celebrity Choice"
Ed Thompson's 1962: Definitely the one that Sandy would have picked!
Small wonder that it was parked right next to the Pennant Blue 1954 that I had picked multiple times before, but somebody beat me to it this year. Once again, the owner, Glenn Ford, let me DRIVE IT!

When I spotted this guy's T-shirt, I had to grab him for a photo!

As I mentioned at the top of this page, the fundraising this year topped that of the previous 4 years combined. These 2 very special people were the reason: The father/daughter team, Ken and Amy Williams from Massachusetts.
Ken had put on quite a show in the Burnout Contest last year in "Casper", the white C4 in the background of the first photo. This year they brought 2 cars. This one was there specifically to use as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society through Corvettes Conquer Cancer!
Set up directly across from me, donors would make their donation to me, then they could SIGN the C4, anywhere on the white body!
In that car, Amy also was in THE FLAG, and drove in the Burnout Contest!
For their efforts, Amy signs the hood inside the oval, reserved for donations of $100 or more.
Thanks to their efforts, we were able to send $807.00 to the American Cancer Society's office in Hershey PA, the office that serves the Carlisle area.
Thank You KEN & AMY!
Time to pack up and head for home.
