2002 Monterey Trip Itinerary:

Fri 8/23 - Sun 8/25

Corvettes @ Carlisle 2002

Small world note: I hadn't been at my space 1/2 hour and had already
seen about a dozen people I had just seen in Monterey!

Friday, 8/23/02

Marshall (Corvette Dreams) Fancher: (Soon-to-be sponsor)

Saturday, 8/24/02

It rained from the time we left the fairgrounds on Friday until shortly before we
arrived at the fairgrounds before 7:00 am Saturday. By mid morning it was clear.

Gary brought an antique outboard motor for Tom West in the trunk of his 2002 convertible!

Corvette Mike goes by in yet another Mosler.

Sandy Rogers pumps up the crowd for the Fashion Show. She had me speak briefly about Corvettes Conquer Cancer and the Charity Auction to benefit the American Cancer Society in Sandy's memory that followed immediately. The Auction netted over $12,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Corvette Plant Manager Wil Cooksey struts his stuff.

Another Celebrity model - this guy said that he has been doing "Elvis" longer than Elvis did!

Panorama of the Carlisle Fairgrounds from C5 Hill.

Leaving for the day in yet another shower, right behind another '53 C5.

Stephanie Ferrell speaks at the National Corvette Museum dinner.

Sunday, 8/25/02

Our display for the 3 days.

Viewed from the inside...

EX-122 drove by. I saw this the week before at the Monterey Historic Races. As the
sign on the trailer says, this is the world's oldest: the original Motorama Corvette.

Here comes trouble: John Nelson & Matt French of Vette Magazine.

My "Celebrity Pick" (for the second year in a row): Timeless '62 of Larry & Donna
Atchison of New Lebanon, OH. Without a doubt, this is STILL the one car on
the grounds that Sandy would have picked!

All packed up again for another year.

On to my parents' house in Philadelphia for the night.
