Haddon Heights Fall Festival and Corvette Show
Haddon Heights, NJ
October 4, 2008
Friday, Oct. 3
Departure for Philadelphia and a night with my parents.
Saturday, Oct. 4
6:50am - 2nd Corvette to arrive on Station Ave.
Several blocks of the main downtown street were blocked off,
with Corvettes on one side of the street and vendor booths on the other.
As you can see, this is a very popular event, and the weather was perfect!

The most popular attraction on the street!
This one-day-old restoration '54 was spectacular! The first Corvette I ever
saw in person was a Pennant Blue '54 just like this beautiful example.
That was in 1954; I was 12; I got a ride in it! Unforgettable!!
At the conclusion of the show, I had a few beers with Dick Borchers, who arranged the invitation to this show and helped me all day. Then we picked up Leona and enjoyed dinner at Applebee's. (Dick is the guy who transported the Corvettes Conquer C6 form Maine to NJ for the graphics, then to Bowling Green where it was presented to me.)
Sunday, Oct. 5
After spending the night at Dick's house, a 6:13am departure
for another show in Mystic CT... or so I thought.
By New Brunswick the rain started; just a mist at first. By New York it was pouring. I kept checking e-mail, and about 8:00, part way across CT, the official word arrived that the Mystic show had been postponed until the next Sunday, October 12. I turned North on I-91 and headed for home.
Back home again.
